From the recording What Are You Waiting For?
The single, “What are you Waiting For?” was inspired by a visit to the Perth Arts Festival event, “Boorna Waanginy: The Trees Speak” in Western Australia. Walking the path through Kings Park at night, festivalgoers' look up to a huge colourful images projected on the surrounding trees along with a soundtrack of storytelling about the land, original people, and wildlife.
Fred combined this experience and lyrical imagery of the Canadian north into a powerful song about courage, resiliency and new beginnings. Apropos for the time we are all going through preventing the spread of C19.
